According to the latest regional report of Sensor Tower, income from domestic purchases of mobile games in South-East Asia reached $625 million in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 1 per cent in the ring, which is the seventh largest market in the world. The region also became the second largest global download market with 1.93 billion downloads, after India, with a 3 per cent increase in the ring.

Despite a smaller population than in Indonesia and the Philippines, Thailand had become the largest source of domestic purchase income in South-East Asia with $162 million, and its well-developed digital payment infrastructure and efficient localization strategies were key drivers. Indonesia led the South-East Asian market with 870 million downloads (9 per cent ring growth), the Philippines (366 million, 1 per cent) and Viet Nam (329 million, + 2 per cent).

The fastest growing subcategory of income is the 4X strategy game, with an increase of 17.6 per cent in the ring, of which Last War: Survival is the champion of income. The platform/cruiser game is the top download subcategory with a 16 per cent ring growth rate, and Super Bear Adventure is the top downloader.

Student technology, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, goes beyond the eFootball of Coramy with quarterly income growth to top the Southeast Asia income ranking. Hungry Studio ‘Block Blast ‘is the fastest-growing game of quarterly downloads, but the total downloads are still second to Garena Free Fire, the league champion.
