As more and more users move from open social dynamics to private community chat interaction, WhatsApp recently announced several updates to its community chat function to enhance social engagement experiences. These new features include role tags, text stickers and activity alerts, aimed at optimizing the presentation and efficiency of group communication.
Custom Role Tab: Users can now place an exclusive label on each group to highlight specific identities or roles. WhatsApp’s official statement states: “We often have different roles, and sometimes we need to be clearly identified in community conversations. Now you can label yourself — “A’s dad” in the parent group, and “The goalkeeper” in the team.” This function can be used both to clarify the division of labour within the group and to make friends chat interesting.Text Paster Generation Tool: Users can now directly translate any term into a poster. The sticker can be generated by entering text in the sticker search box, and the newly created sticker can be saved directly to a personal sticker, without sending it to a chat window. This makes the message more productive.Smart Active Alarm System: When creating an event in a group chat, the sponsor can now set a custom early reminder for participants. Whether it is an off-line party or online meeting arrangement, the system automatically sends notifications to ensure that invitees do not miss important schedules. These additional features are expected to inject more interactive possibilities into the increasingly active WatsApp group. The number of groups to which users are invited is expected to grow further as the use of the application continues to rise in the European and American markets.
