GRID buys Bayes Esports assets and continues to add to the electric lottery.

GRID, the game data and technology platform, announced that it had acquired its assets after Bayes Esports had entered liquidation. Bayes Esports entered bankruptcy in May this year and the German court declared the company insolvent on 1 August. According to the bulletin, the acquisition of assets consisted of a real-time data transaction solution, a predictive model and a fan engagement tool developed by Bayes Esports over the past decade. GRID intends to integrate these assets into GRID Bet, its electronic gaming solution, which has recently announced plans for further expansion.

The founder and Chief Executive Officer of GRID, Moritz Maurer, stated that “the acquisition of Bayes Esports assets will accelerate the ability of GRID to create value for the competition copyrighter, in particular to facilitate the next stage of the development of the field of electric lottery competition.” Bayes Esports web link has now been redirected to the GRID website, whose landing page states that “GRID is committed to becoming a data-driven cornerstone for the future”. In addition to its technical assets, GRID took over the partnership agreement signed by Bayes Esports. Bayes Esports had established cooperation with key institutions in the industry, such as KRAFTON, the boxing game and the World Cup, but had been taken over by GRID because it was not possible to sustain growth. Bayes Esports and the Boxing Game signed in 2021 expired in 2024, and the Boxer had established GRID as a new partner by the end of 2023. During the World Cup in 2024, GRID worked with Bayes Esports, but exclusive rights were acquired by GRID in 2025.

Bayes Esports announced cooperation with the ESL FACEIT group in February this year, but as the financial situation deteriorated, EFG opted for GRID. The loss of key contracts has been accompanied by a myth of layoffs and bankruptcy. GRID indicated that Bayes technology would be applied to its full-line operations, but placed particular emphasis on giving priority to the “GRID lottery” — a comprehensive solution for the company’s compliance competition market. As Chief Business Officer, Tom Warburton, co-founder of GRID, will lead the expansion of the GRID lottery. He pointed out that “all the sports and lottery industries that I have come across have one thing in common — they are driven by official data. Only by relying on official data can the efficiency of the transaction, the accuracy of the outcome, real-time investment and the breadth of the product be achieved, which is particularly critical in the field of video games that serve as the only real data source.”

Today’s dominant GRID will work to avoid a repetition of Bayes Esports. The company currently has over 100 employees, with an estimated annual income of $16.5 million.
